in united states, virginia became the first state that officially apologized for its slavery past as its state assembly unanimously passed a resolution that expressed "profound regret" for the state's role in slavery
the resolution also expressed regret for "the exploitation of Native Americans"
the apologies are long overdue. but better later than never. let's see what other states would follow
germany apologized after its defeat in ww2. japan till this day hasn't even begun 2 reflect let alone apologize
governments of all nations should apologize for miseries caused & cruelties done 2 other nations as well as 2 its own citizens
we haven't seen western countries apologize for it's colonial past when all kinds of crimes were committed: invasion, killing, tortures, exploitation, destruction of ways of life, slavery, ruling by force, taking away land & natural resources...
