民食鶉而遘重災
31.有風從耶和華那裏颳起，把鵪鶉由海面颳來，飛散在營邊和營的四圍；這邊約有一天的路程，那邊約有一天的路程，離地約有二肘。
Now a wind went out from the LORD and drove quail in from the sea. It scattered them up to two cubits[b] deep all around the camp, as far as a day’s walk in any direction.

32.百姓起來，終日終夜，並次日一整天，捕取鵪鶉；至少的也取了十賀梅珥，為自己擺列在營的四圍。
All that day and night and all next day the people went out and gathered quail. No one gathered less than ten homers.[c] Then they spread them out all around the camp.

33.肉在他們牙齒之間尚未嚼爛，耶和華的怒氣就向他們發作，用最重的災殃擊殺了他們。
But while the meat was still between their teeth and before it could be consumed, the anger of the LORD burned against the people, and he struck them with a severe plague.
34.那地方便叫做基博羅‧哈他瓦【就是貪慾之人的墳墓】，因為他們在那裏埋葬那起貪慾之心的人。
Therefore the place was named Kibroth Hattaavah,[d] because there they buried the people who had craved other food.

Miriam and Aaron Oppose Moses
第十二章 Numbers 12
1.摩西娶了古實女子為妻。米利暗和亞倫因他所娶的古實女子就毀謗他，說：
Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite.
2.「難道耶和華單與摩西說話，不也與我們說話嗎？」這話耶和華聽見了。
「Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?」 they asked. 「Hasn’t he also spoken through us?」 And the LORD heard this.
3.（摩西為人極其謙和，勝過世上的眾人。）
(Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
4.耶和華忽然對摩西、亞倫、米利暗說：「你們三個人都出來，到會幕這裏。」他們三個人就出來了。
At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, 「Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.」 So the three of them went out.
5.耶和華在雲柱中降臨，站在會幕門口，召亞倫和米利暗，二人就出來了。
Then the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward,
6.耶和華說：「你們且聽我的話：你們中間若有先知，我耶和華必在異象中向他顯現，在夢中與他說話。
he said, 「Listen to my words: 「When there is a prophet among you, I, the LORD, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.
7.我的僕人摩西不是這樣；他是在我全家盡忠的。
But this is not true of my servant Moses; he is faithful in all my house.
8.我要與他面對面說話，乃是明說，不用謎語，並且他必見我的形像。你們毀謗我的僕人摩西，為何不懼怕呢？」
With him I speak face to face, clearly and not in riddles; he sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?」
9.耶和華就向他們二人發怒而去。
The anger of the LORD burned against them, and he left them. |
