1) "The Fog of War"...an interview with Robert McNamara, a genius, the golden boy from the 50s to 70s, the blue-eyed boy of Presidents Kennedy and Johnson...
McNamara, President Of Ford Motors, and then Secretary of Defense in the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations, and then the Chairman of World Bank till 1981, now at 80 something, talked about WW2, Cuban Missle Crisis, Vietnam War, wars in general and human nature.
An excellent documentary for anybody who is interested in recent US history.
2) "Cold Mountain", much better than I'd expected, was one of those films that grabbed my total attention from beginning to end.
When not knowing much about or expecting much from the film one is about to watch and then it turns out to be a surprisingly good one, the feeling is most overmhelming.
Other such films for me include "Boys From Brazil" and "Farewell My Concubine".
